cute post-pokemon adventures maybe worldhopping the other way idk
[ Much time had passed for him since he returned from Johto to Ivalice. Not just time, but much had been seen. He had lost who he was, but gained a new life - a new duty. But, today, he was not with Larsa. (He had left him in the care of his Houndoom and Haxorus, who had also gotten special armour.) No, today Basch had two jobs to do. One was to make sure his Pokemon were given free roam so they did not act spoiled. The other was to investigate rumours of violence.
What Basch had not expected - Floette still in his armour, nested and sleeping - was to find a quite magestic machine simply in the open, abandoned by time. It seemed to be the sort of machine which was from an era long past. This was no violence - and there were not even Golems nearby.
He had simply meant to investigate it, eye it over - but, instead, his damned Spinda had gone over and pressed a button on it, letting out a combination of whines and chuckles. (Now that Basch had met Balthier, he could see the similarities. It didn't make these silly diversions more or less irratating.) As the machine whirred on, he put a hand to his Flygon. To Ashelia, his promise to Dalmasca. (Ashe had been amused at the Vibrava when she were smaller, and Basch had eventually explained where her name had come from. He had also managed to breed some others, to give to the others of the party. Though magick or something.)
And stood, Judge Magister, as there was a bright flash. Whatever came from the other end, he thought he would be ready. ]

Well, he wasn't really sure where he was.
His head hurt and he felt disoriented, Buster--his honedge--laying still on his chest though he could feel the occasional shift from the Pokemon so he knew he was alright. Gongaga was sprawled across his lap in the same state of unconsciousness, tendrils twitching with every breath. The rest of his crew were tucked safely in their Pokeballs--a habit he'd picked back up once he got home to keep them safe from fiends. The blinding light did nothing to make his head hurt any less but it was fading soon enough and there was someone..
Cloud shifted and immediately started to reach for his actual sword rather than buster, his movements a bit unsteady from how off he still felt but he wasn't about to let--
Wait.
His eyes adjusted a bit more and suddenly he found himself staring at someone he hadn't seen in quite some time.]
..Basch?

In the time Basch had adventured with his allies, he had told them sometimes of the man he had grown to respect. Cloud Strife. He had not expected to see him again - even if, once, Vaan claimed to have vanished to another world and beat up a guy called Cloud. (Penelo didn't believe him.) Though he did not move for a moment, he gave a hand movement to his Flygon. Stand down. The Flygon, however, had different ideas - beginning to nose forward cautiously. ]
...Aye.
[ His voice was still tense, but he kneeled down to get closer to Cloud. That, and to hold Ashelia back. ]
I... know not how...
[ He gestures to the machine. He's a knight-- Judge, not a machinist. ]

Where..where am I?
[Because this didn't feel like Edge; this didn't feel like his planet. Cloud was far more in tune with the planet than he liked to admit most of the time so he knew this wasn't right. That he was somewhere completely different.
..Was it Basch's world?
As he tried to wrangle his thoughts, Gongaga started to stir and lazily rolled over, stretching his legs and tendrils before bright blue eyes blinked open. The sylveon immediately rolled back over and lifted his head, chirping softly as he looked around and as soon as he spotted Basch? A shrill, happy twill shattered the moment as Gongaga launched himself at the older man to cover his face in licks.]
Gongaga!

[ As Basch was explaining, however, he was suddenly leaped on by said Gongaga - bracing himself so he wasn't knocked backwards. (Basch had never been the best with his back.) But he gave a grunt, trying to pull the Sylveon backwards. Ribbons, however, held him - ack.
He should have expected this. If he'd been expecting any of this, that is. Between licks, before the tongue could get anywhere unwanted, he gave a firm hug to the Sylveon, trying to move the fox-like creature to his lap. ]
...outskirts of Archadian terri-- [ why so affectionate but Basch does guess it's been a while (Cloud doesn't look that much different, however) ] --tory.

I'm so sorry. [The younger blonde was slowly climbing to his feet, easing Buster up in the process then immediately checking on the pokeballs he had stashed in a pouch on his belt.
Good. They were all there.
Once he was sure of that Cloud made his way closer to the other and attempted to get Gongaga off of him even as the sylveon refused to budge.] So this is..your home?

A-aye. And do not apologize - I should apologize.
[ He looks back to the machine, giving a grunt as he continued to try and get the friend to... settle. His Flygon gives a huff, coming closer. Don't make her headbutt you. ]
'Tis the fault of that, not I. As soon as we return to the Imperial Palace, I can get engineers here to investigate.

That would be appreciated...not that it isn't good to see you again. There's just a lot back home that I need to take care of.
[Like a certain trio of clones.]

There is still duties for you to carry out - I understand. [ Though it was selfish, Basch wished he could linger with Cloud for longer. Many of Ivalice didn't believe his quest - seeing his Pokemon as simply monsters altered by Mist.
With Cloud, he could have another who went though worlds, one to relate to. However, none of this was visible on his face. He's placed his helm back on, gesturing to follow him. Close by is an airship. ]
...There is much which has happened to I. Chaos and heartbreak both - I hope it is not the same for you, Cloud.
